final

               spring 1806
Dear Mr. Jefferson

The journey was the corps at its best.  The journey was America at its best.  The journey that we embarked on in 1803 was a great success but we did not find the northwest passage as you were expecting.  The three years that we were on this journey was amazing finding many different plant and animals and meeting a lot of Indian tribes along the way.  We have made good friends of the natives living in the land that we traveled though we have mad some enemies too.  I believe that this land is perfect to expand our great nation. The corps almost got eliminated many time but with only one casualty we pushed on.

P.S  For my weekly labors ... and all my endeavors I have brought to this journey.  I believe I should be paid as a grade of an A-.

Connor, looking back at your journal . . . contemplating your final thoughts, I am proud to have had you as a member of the Corps of ReDiscovery 2009. Each week you listened to suggestions and strove to make your journal better with each mile west. Your final journal, with its photos, descriptions, changing backgrounds and music is beautiful. When I added an A- in for your final journal entry the ledger added your final pay up to a B+. I think if you had added a presentation now and then and would have kept doing at least four entries each and every week you could have moved your pay grade up a notch.

Thank you for your hard work. Also, thank you for your hard work on our end of the year journey. Your class came a long way spending time with Darius and the dragon. I look forward to a strong year as we travel the world next year.

Have a great summer.

Love,
(Captain) John
